A notice: A retinoid reaction may occur after using retinol serum. This is normal in a small number of users. A retinoid reaction occurs when the skin has too little vitamin A to metabolize it effectively. To create more vitamin A receptors in skin cells, the DNA must be stimulated by vitamin A. The serum dose should always be increased gradually to avoid overtaxing the skin. If the skin feels uncomfortable, the product should be applied less frequently or use should be discontinued until the skin feels normal before resuming use.
